29.99 Sodbuster!....... show some Soddy pics

Post by methadoneman »

I was pleasantly surprised when I found the weekly deal at my local Ace Hardware Store. I got the white synthetic one for 29 and the blue one for 39. Good deals.

Nice!

I'm curious if selling Case is typical of Ace Hardware, or something they do on their own? I've seen some people say theirs sold Bear and Son, others have a Buck case. Aside from utility knives, and a tiny handful of things like the Milwaukee range, mine has nothing. Mine does not have as much tools as the one a couple towns over, so I may go by there and see, as they're the only one that has the Blackstone model my grandmother wanted.

My local Ace Hardware here in Tecumseh(MI) Carries not only Case but also Gerber, Buck, and Victorinox. A pretty decent selection too!

Back in August this year I walked into our local Tractor Supply Co. (TSC) and saw a sign that their pocket knives were 50% off. I believe the brands were Case, Old Timer, and Gerber. That store was about to undergo a renovation (now complete), and they were trying to reduce the amount of merchandise to be moved into storage units out in the parking lot. I don't normally buy many new knives, but I ended up purchasing five Case: 2 Sodbuster Jr (both yellow synthetic, 1 in a box, the other in a blister pack), 1 SparXX White Synthetic Standard Jig Peanut, 1 Yellow Synthetic Smooth Trapper, and 1 Olive Green Bone Peach Seed Jig Stockman.
I already had two Sodbuster Juniors, so I recently gave the two I purchased at TSC to a young man who works at our local IHOP. He's just started collecting pocket knives and is crazy about Case--financially, though, he doesn't have a pot to piss in.

Very nice of you. I gave a young intern at my job Case Teardrop in Stag not long ago. His dad, who works with me said he loves and Carrie's that knife everywhere. Good feeling to help these young ones out. :)

Fantastic--so thoughtful on your part. Yes, it feels great to help cultivate their interest. Very rewarding.

:) I scored this Case Sodbuster Jr last week. I really like the color and deep texture jigging on it. Nice snap, no half stop.

That's a nice looking knife. I have always liked the way bone handled Sodbusters look although when I think of a Sodbuster the old yellow and black ones are the first thing that comes to mind. I've been buying several Sodbusters lately.

Back in February 2022, this novelty pocket knife arrived in a large group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. I definitely did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. HOWEVER, despite the "subject matter", this pocket knife is a keeper. It did get added to my general, "foreign born" pocket knife accumulation. It is a United, single blade, two tang stamps, a blade etch, 3 1/2" closed, sodbuster, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "United - ROSTFREI." The main blade back tang stamp says, "UC771 - ITALY." The main blade front etch says, "MURDER X 2 = O. J. - Guilty or Innocent?" and it has an image of O. J. Simpson holding a handgun to his head. This pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT require any cleaning. I just wiped it off.
I took some pictures and here it is.
