Anyone EDC a Great Eastern knife ?

Post by gino »

Circumstances out of my control have not permitted me to spend the time in the last 4 years so getting back into it
I see GEC (as well as other well made brands) have drastically gone up in price

I have carried my Gec 48 for the last couple years and I don’t just carry it I use it

Just curious if anyone else daily carries and uses a Gec in particular ?

I don’t currently carry a GEC but I have carried several of their patterns in the past. The longest run I had was an AAPK #35 Churchill club knife with Rust Red Jigged Bone. Carried it for a few days longer than a year and then another knife came along that kicked it out of my pocket.

GEC makes top notch knives. I’ve switched to modern knives nowadays but if I ever go back to traditional knives, I will surely be looking at GEC. With most things these days, it can be said that “they don’t make em like they used to” but that is not the case with GEC.

I don't have a GEC but if I did I would carry it. I have at one time
or another carried all of my knives ( a little over 100 ). The
more mint and expensive knives I only carry on special occasions or to
dinner. I would not carry them and then go outside and do some
hard cutting.

Thanks Rick
I carried some tactical knives in the past SPYDERCO benchmade and there’s certainly advantages with them

For me I just love the character a traditional pocket knife gets when you carry it

Thanks Bob
I carry the Gec and it serves almost all my needs at my age if I have to do any difficult cuttings or anything I think would damage it I grab another knife like a opinel or a cheaper fixed blade

I'm tempted to carry my GECs because they are sooo nice. I couldn't stand it of they got scratched so I only carry them for special occasions, and always have a modern alternative for actual cutting. Also I ordered these leather sheaths to carry them in so they don't get dinged.

I actually EDC quite a few GEC. These are the ones in my EDC pile...the red 33 and the Washington jack are original, the other 4 I recovered at some point...

Yes. Is this the same Gino of old from PA ? Hello anyway.

Ever since Bill made knives for me I've tried carrying GECs. I like to carry a stockman and sometimes a farmers jack ( too expensive for GECs).😊
I've been carrying an 82.
