I remember those C/S abuse videos vividly, ::hmm:: and when I saw the individual put their Grivory (super hard plastic) model in the vise and then bend the knife over to almost 90 degrees, ::uc:: and then release it and it went right back to standing up straight with absolutely no damage, I was hooked! ::groove::
Marco, I still have an old DVD of "C.S. Proof" and every time they flex a blade in the vice, I pucker up a bit ... ::skeptic:: expecting the blade to snap right in two ::uc:: .... ::hmm:: I wonder if some ever did and they just re-did the demo. ::shrug:: ... I would say my top 3 C.S. fixed blades would be the Tai-pan, the Trail Master and the Cold Steel Master Tanto San Mai

That's an interesting thought, ::idea:: Dog, it didn't occur to me that those vids might be re-dos. ::hmm:: I sure hope not, that would really damage my regard for C/S knives. ::facepalm:: What part on your bod ::hmm:: puckers-up, your lips, or your sphincter? ::rotflol:: I certainly admire your top 3 choices of C/S knives, even though 2 differ from mine, the "Caledonian", the "Hold-Out", and the "Tai-Pan"! Cold Steel knives are likely the closest I come to "collecting" as opposed to my dedicated "accumulating"!

9 1/4" Caledonian Edge linerlock! This is from their 60 series, and they now have just introduced a blacked-out model!

WIN_20241121_14_52_41_Pro.jpg
13 1/4" Hold-out mid-lock! Also comes in 2 shorter blade length models, and all come in serrated as well! This thing is almost a sword and was hard to hold 1-handed for the picture, hence the blurry picture!
WIN_20241121_14_53_21_Pro.jpg
13" Tai-Pan dagger! The very first C/S knife I ever saw years ago, and pursued it until I finally got mine! Definite consideration if going in the bush!

NICE Cold Steel Mark! ::tu::
The Japan made Caledonian and Tai Pan are two more on my grail list. $$ are serious on them, especially the Caledonian, but eventually....

Thanks a bunch, Tony, ::handshake:: the Caledonian really is a special knife and I'm certain you would love it. The C/S website currently has the all-black model available for $449.00, and if it becomes as popular as the original that price won't move much over time. Personally, I didn't care for the black model which is odd since I usual would, and I'd recommend you hold off and continue searching for one like mine, like anything else, they'll come up eventually. They also have the Tai-Pan available, but I don't recall how much. Their website isn't known for low prices, you might be best shopping elsewhere. ::hmm::

A couple of days ago, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives just to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it most definitely turned out to be a keeper and it did get added to my general, "foreign born", pocket knife accumulation. It is a VALOR, two blades, one tang stamp, one blade etch, 3 5/16" closed, a long main blade pull and match strike, one spring, pocket knife. The main blade back tang stamp says, "NO. 11535 (over) JAPAN" The main blade front etch, VERY FAINT, says "VALOR BRAND - MOLYBDENUM SUPER SHARP - HANDMADE", with a logo or symbol. The main blade does have a GOOD half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade does have a CRISP half stop. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

It certainly seems that way, Tony, the number of times we have or have posted the same or similar knives is growing everyday! I sure don't mind, how 'bout you!

Fine by me Mark ... that's just part of the Knife Brotherhood! I love traditional knives, but out of production, big and unique styles are my thing. That can still fall into the traditional style, especially with fixed blades. Not on this topic, but I have been looking hard at some modern folders/flippers from different manufacturers, and picked up a couple Newootz and Trivisa knives. Some are affordable with a custom look. Still waiting on them to arrive. I will post them afterward. ::handshake::

I have an O.M.O.R OR ROMO Backwards but i have seen Identical valors with different blades but same size bolsters scale pin locations all the same. Im guessing same company and the ROMO.I got this at an out of town swap meet for $25.guy wanted $40 ai told him I reallyvwasnt looking for tge false button I collect switchblades and offered him $10 he came back at $25 and i felt it more reasonable, and by then i was warming up to the knife.Still trying to date it.Doesnt appear to be sharpened b esides tge factory sharp.I would be betting that it came from the same factory that made Rizzutto based on build quality its up there like the older Rizzies.Step bolster look and all. Hairline crack on thin sides of button.Bayonet blade similar to button open button close stilettos but without the long finger nick but same blade shape thickness finish.I coukd be wrong its an observation. I really woukd like to know the year though.

Here's a recent save on a Valor Suport Sport. It was purchased from TripleF and came in expectedly rough condition. After some elbow grease I've smoothed out most of the deepest scratches and filled in the missing chunk with a red sparkle resin. Im attempting to enamel the etch with a matching red enamel but after three failed attempts am running out of ideas. Here's where it's at for now, pocketable.

Reverand wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 12:47 am I have seen some Japanese Valor knives, but not with that handle. I am wondering if it might have been rehandled before you bought it? Usually there would be a pommel and but on the end of it. I do not recall seeing the pith on the end of any Japanese knives of that type (most had bone or plastic handles rather than real stag).
If so, that only makes it more unique!
Hopefully someone with more information will chime in soon.
Thank you for the insight Reverand. I hadn't considered that the handle could have been replaced however in looking at it very closely it seems too perfect. If it has been replaced then what an amazing job they did. Incidentally, I also have a belt buckle knife that is made by Valor and marked Seiki Japan that I will post some pics of once I remember where I put it 😆. Thanks again for the reply sir.
Well I still haven't heard anything yet from anyone claiming to have ever seen an other Valor like my miniature stag handle but, I finally located my Valor belt buckle knife which is also another one that I've never seen any other of. I'll post a couple pictures of it if I can here. I have a belt with it that I purchased with the knife together also. Belt is unmarked so I'm not sure if it came with the knife from the factory or if it was custom made.

Was re-reading this thread when I realized I had seen an unusual Valor knife on the big auction site. If anyone is interested here is a photo. I don’t know the value if the price is right. Just a heads up guys.

I see there are 4 available and 5 sold on the big ol auction site.
Would make a handy letter opener or maybe even a watermelon knife though the blade might be a little short for that.
Good looking knife nevertheless.
