Bloodhound wrote: Tue Sep 17, 2024 4:51 pm I have recently returned to the Barlow! By way of explanation, When I was a youngster, I was raised by a single mother who didn't approve of me having a knife in my pocket, but I was 8 and had "My Own Money" (I was an active coke/pepsi/sprite...bottle collector and took then in to the grocery store baskets at a time). I started my knife ownership with a toothpick shaped fish knife, but that got confiscated by my mother. So I settled on the Barlows, Imperial, Sabre and such, usually less than $2 at any hardware store or K-mart. I used them hard and my younger brother stole it if I left it out on my dresser or... So I had many Barlows over my child hood. Then I got into other shapes and became more careful with usage and storage of my pocket knives.

I just recently re-discovered my love for the Barlow shape and I picked this one up. A Western...I am predicting that it will be the first of more to come...

A nice Schrade Cut Co barlow, single clip blade vintage barlows are hard to find, most vintage barlows were 2 blades.

I like that one, John. I've always liked single blade Barlows. Here are a couple I've been able to come across in my hunting over the years..

I already posted this one in the “Mail

Thanks, TopDog. That color on yours just posted is nice--reminds me of apricot.
