Hello,
I have an extensive collection of knives that I need help with. I would like to find the values of them if possible or someone could put me in the right direction. It was my my father in-laws collection of 50-60years, all types and sizes.

Re: Information
I feel sure you can get all, or most of your questions answered by the knowledgeable folks here. In order to answer those questions, you will need to post descriptions of individual knives and preferably several clear photos of the knives. Good luck with your inquiries.

Re: Information
Welcome to AAPK. Questions and situations like yours arise here often. You have not said what type of knives are in the collection - factory, custom, or? If factory, which brands are they? These and other things are all considerations that affect how you will need to proceed in determining values.
What you’ve described is potentially a major undertaking if it’s a large collection. How much effort are you willing to expend? Is determination of values for insurance purpose, or is it your intent to liquidate the collection? Either way, hiring a professional appraiser might be wise unless you want to undertake the task yourself.
Not to discourage you from posting questions, but being new here you probably have not found the “self help” resources available here. In the header at the top of the page is a link to the research section - just click on “Research” https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... t/research. Scroll down to find various topics and brands.
Here is a link to a “sticky” thread about knife values. https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... hp?t=77592 Aside from the advice given there, for most knives your best source of current value is an advanced search of ebay for sales of the knife in question. The advanced search lets you limit your search to sold listings only, which culls all current listings and unsold listings which are the seller asking prices, not what the item actually sold for.
Hope that helps!

Re: Information
Ken,
Thank you for the reply. It is both factory and custom knives collection. He made a few but those I don't think we are selling but he has some from other masters that we probably will. It is a daunting task but we are going to give it a try. He has a ka bar, case, remington among others. Thank you again for the response.
