Thanks Rev! My only knock on this Case is that the spring could be stiffer. It pushes off open somewhat easy. But it does have a solid half stop. Gonna make it my EDC for the next 3 months.
Truthfully my last Solingen Boker trapper has gaps this Case doesn't, and almost nonexistent half stop, at 3x the cost so Ima happy camper.
This solid Barlow has me jonesin for that Case blue bone sodbuster. But that may be pushing my luck.

I didn't get a knife in the mail today but I did get this aftermarket thumb stud. The first picture is before I installed it.
I'm impressed so far. After about 30-40 openings, it hasn't budged yet. And now I can easily open my Buck 112 LT with one hand. Might have to get some more of these if this one continues to hold up.

I am trying really hard to limit my knife purchases, but every now and then something comes along that causes my reform to crumble, this is one such item!
Lone Wolf Paul Series First Production Run 9" "Defender" with all SS hardware and cocobolo covers. If you can find these knives for sale you can expect a price of $400. - $900. , this gently used copy ran me 1/4 of that, which was highly instrumental in my decision to buy it!

Great looking BIG LW knife Mark! When the price is right, it's time to strike. That is why I too have a hard time "limiting" knife purchases. Good deals are hard to walk away from. Congratulations!Madmarco wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 9:40 pm I am trying really hard to limit my knife purchases, but every now and then something comes along that causes my reform to crumble, this is one such item!

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Much thanks, Tony, and that's correct, once I realized you can have more than just 1 Grail knife, a whole new dimension opened up to me, so I've set a 5 knife Grail limit for myself, and currently have only 2 spots open to fill. I'm sure though that by the time I've filled all 5 spots there will be more models I've seen that I would consider as Grail knives. Oh well, things could be much worse!

Our friend djknife13 picked this Pal up a week so or back. I had not seen a Pal with red handles before. Dave offered it to me and was in the mail box this afternoon. The PAL BLADE CO. stockman is 3 5/8 inches closed and the bolsters and liners appear to be steel. Maybe war time manufactured?
The reference material shows several different shields were used on the Pal knives. The shield on the red handle is shown.
Thanks Dave.

Just getting caught up on this thread. Nice score Mark. I love Lone Wolf knives. I recently acquired about 8 Lone Wolf knives. That’s one that is not in this collection. It’s right up your alley.Madmarco wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 9:40 pm I am trying really hard to limit my knife purchases, but every now and then something comes along that causes my reform to crumble, this is one such item!

Many thanks, Mark, IMO, that "Defender" is their nicest model with their "Perfecto" model running a close 2nd, and it's also on my radar.
I'm looking forward to viewing the 8 new knives you acquired!
