Thanks TopDog ... we got power and now have water as of late Sunday afternoon. Took a drive around yesterday ... it is really bad for a lot of people around here. It is amazing what water can do to roads, buildings, etc. We have been listening to the scanner a lot. Our sheriff's department, EMS, and fire departments are doing a great job. Western NC is a mess also. It will take a while to get back to normal.

Glad to hear you’re OK, Tony. Watching the news reports on the NC mountains is really heartbreaking!

Thanks Rev! My only knock on this Case is that the spring could be stiffer. It pushes off open somewhat easy. But it does have a solid half stop. Gonna make it my EDC for the next 3 months.

Truthfully my last Solingen Boker trapper has gaps this Case doesn't, and almost nonexistent half stop, at 3x the cost so Ima happy camper.

This solid Barlow has me jonesin for that Case blue bone sodbuster. But that may be pushing my luck.

I didn't get a knife in the mail today but I did get this aftermarket thumb stud. The first picture is before I installed it.

I'm impressed so far. After about 30-40 openings, it hasn't budged yet. And now I can easily open my Buck 112 LT with one hand. Might have to get some more of these if this one continues to hold up.

Great looking BIG LW knife Mark! When the price is right, it's time to strike. That is why I too have a hard time "limiting" knife purchases. Good deals are hard to walk away from. Congratulations! From what you said in the CK thread, this one sounds like it is one of your grail knives.

Much thanks, Tony, and that's correct, once I realized you can have more than just 1 Grail knife, a whole new dimension opened up to me, so I've set a 5 knife Grail limit for myself, and currently have only 2 spots open to fill. I'm sure though that by the time I've filled all 5 spots there will be more models I've seen that I would consider as Grail knives. Oh well, things could be much worse!

Our friend djknife13 picked this Pal up a week so or back. I had not seen a Pal with red handles before. Dave offered it to me and was in the mail box this afternoon. The PAL BLADE CO. stockman is 3 5/8 inches closed and the bolsters and liners appear to be steel. Maybe war time manufactured?

Sittin' in my recliner admiring my 1st red Pal.

All the blades still have most of the original metal. Match strike nail nick and sledge on the clip is nice.

The stamp is Pal Blade Co, this makes it an earlier production than the ones stamped Pal Cutlery Co.

The reference material shows several different shields were used on the Pal knives. The shield on the red handle is shown.

Just getting caught up on this thread. Nice score Mark. I love Lone Wolf knives. I recently acquired about 8 Lone Wolf knives. That’s one that is not in this collection. It’s right up your alley.

Many thanks, Mark, IMO, that "Defender" is their nicest model with their "Perfecto" model running a close 2nd, and it's also on my radar.
