Imperial:The,"King"of knives..........

Picked up my first Imperial knife a few days ago. Trying to find out approximate age. I know very little about them. I believe this pattern is a sow belly?? Blades seem pretty full. Any info would be great. Knife looks to be 3 3/4” closed.

Not too recently, this scout or camping, pattern or style of pocket knife, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. But, it does have some life left in it. It did get added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is an Imperial, "KAMP-KING", one blade, three tools (a can opener, a cap lifter or bottle opener and a punch or awl), one tang stamp, one tool stamp, 3 3/4" closed, scout or camping, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "Imperial (with crown) (over) PROV. R.I." with a vertical "USA" on the side. The can opener tool front stamp says, "CAN OPENER (over) P.2391732" The shield says, "KAMP-KING" The bail is missing. The main blade does have a WEAK half stop. The main blade does have an OK opening snap. The main blade does have an OK closing snap. The three tools ALL open, close, and function properly. Overall, this pocket knife is still in FAIR condition. It did need a little bit of a cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did turn out to be a keeper. It did get added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is an Imperial, two blades, one tang stamp, 2 15/16" closed, long main blade pull, two springs, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp reads "Imperial (with the crown) (over) PROV, U.S.A." The main blade does have a VERY CRISP half stop. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade also has a VERY CRISP half stop. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. Even with the minor cosmetic issues on both handle sides, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It did need a VERY minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

This one gets carried and used. Made during WW2. Steel liners. Great blade steel, so easy to strop to hair shaving. Like the pinch open too. Good bone.

Scott, I have burned a thin wrap from a shell handled Imperial. The smell tells me it is celuloid, just like a ping pong ball. It burns very fast. Hope this helps.

The tool front tang stamp says, "Imperial (with crown) (over) STAINLESS (over) U.S.A." The main handle side says nothing, it is blank. The other handle side says, "RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION - BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C." The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does NOT have an opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. The tool does NOT have a half stop. The tool does NOT have an opening snap. The tool does have an OK closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT require any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Both blades appear to have suffered some metal loss. This does NOT cause me any concern. Both blades still sit fine when closed. The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does NOT have an opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. The secondary blade does NOT have a half stop. The secondary blade does NOT have an opening snap. The secondary blade does NOT have a closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is still in GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

A few days ago, my trip to the post office produced this multi tool, with a glass cutter, camping or scouting, pattern or style of pocket knife. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the most recent example to be added to my multi tool with a glass cutter, camping or scouting, pattern or style of pocket knife collection. It is an Imperial, one blade, four tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener with a screwdriver, a punch or awl and a glass cutter), one tang stamp, 3 7/16" closed, camping or scouting, pattern or style of pocket knife. The bail is missing. The main blade front tang stamp says "Imperial (with crown) (over) PROV. R.I." with a vertical "USA" on the side. This is my fifth Imperial, multi tool with a glass cutter, camping or scouting, pattern or style of pocket knife. My other four were previously posted, by me, under and throughout, this topic or thread. The first one was posted on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. The second one was posted on Thursday, October 26, 2023. The third one was posted on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. The fourth one was posted on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Also, this is only my fifth, multi tool with a glass cutter pocket knife, that was NOT MADE IN GERMANY. This main blade has NO half stop. This main blade does have a WEAK opening snap. This main blade does have a WEAK closing snap. The three tools ALL open and close properly, without any problems. This pocket knife is in GOOD condition. I did have to clean it up a little bit. I took some pictures and here it is.
