Take a look at my finds today.

Post by knifenovice »

Can anybody tell me the age of the Boker barlow? It was made in Soligen Germany. My other find was a Case XX 2 blade congress. Its not in mint shape but what can you expect for 10 bucks. The Boker is in beautiful shape and I really liked the wood handle. Does anybody know what wood species the handle is. The Boker was 20 bucks.

Im trying to remember what I learned on Bokers. My gut tells me its made in Germany, The USA made Bokers of late have Solingen on them but not the Germany part in the tang stamp I think I remember. A stab(hehe) at the handle material would be "rosewood".

The Case looks like its a 6233 Pen pattern to me. "Congress" generally means their 4 blade but shaped alot like the Pen, only a bit larger.

It is most likely Rosewood, but since there twenty some species, that doesn't help much.

My guess would be one of the species of Indian Rosewood.
