Since Moore Maker uses other cutlers to manufacture their knives it is very likely that Bear MGC/Bear & Son made it for them. The last I checked Moore Maker has used Utica, Queen (USA), Camillus (USA), and Bear MGC/Bear & Son among others. The common thread is all are made in the USA. You saved me some searching, I was looking at those makers I know are associated with Moore Maker searching for a similar pattern....you just posted it. Thanks. ::tu::

Thanks GSP. Since my last post I have been able to confirm through Moore Maker that the knife was indeed made by Bear & Son.

I bought the BPS Bushcraft Adventurer and found it to be a very well made knife. It's solid and strong, made with good quality materials, but I don't think I'll be standing on it any time soon.

Yes I believe so. I don't know what BPS calls it (they don't say) but it is what I have always called a scandi grind which makes for a good strong edge.

Sas, I bought a Finish Kepard about the same time I saw these Ukrainian knives, so I did not pick one up having just bought the Finish knife ... ::doh:: ... ::cb:: ... but ... ::paranoid:: I still may get one, I think they look like very well-made pieces. Also, I have a Battle Horse, that fits the "excellent outdoors use" category .... ::hmm:: I think they have a great product, a little expensive, but not too expensive, and other good models as well.

Good lookin' knife GSP. ::tu::

I don't have any experience with Battle Horse Knives but they look to be well made. The "everything outdoors use" category can cover quite a few knives. I have so many examples of knives that fit the category I have a hard time deciding with one to to take to camp. ::rotflol:: Of course I have my favorites but there's always a new one begging to be tested. Then, as a collector, I have that debate with myself about whether I should keep the newbie in mint condition or put it to the test. I've pretty much decided to take the BPS on my next outing which will most likely be hunting camp.

Sas, ... ::hmm:: You summed it up about as good as one can. ::nod:: ... ::hmm:: I hesitate to take that brand new $250 "camp" knife out and start batoning wood with it .... ::cb:: ... but around $100 or less ... ::paranoid:: I don't mind so much beating it up... I know knives are made to be used ... but ... ::paranoid:: it's like driving that new car off the lot ... ::skeptic:: No scratches!!! ::skeptic:: that 1st year at least.... ::paranoid::

I drive 4X4 vehicles, mostly Jeep, with a Dodge Ram pick up now and then, and I stress about scratches for about the first two days at which point I can't take it anymore and take off down the muddy trail through the woods. ::rotflol::

Sas, they were hand-forged by a local guy in Tucson, he is a big guy ( ::paranoid:: maybe not Sasquach big ::paranoid:: but he is good size) and he makes big knives..... I was supposed to learn some forging from him ... but he has dropped under the radar ... ::shrug:: so to speak...

That Short KA-BAR is a great "little" knife, I've carried one before (I found one under a mattress in an empty room, when the tenant "skipped town" so to speak ::paranoid:: ).
