Challenge Cutlery and Crucible Cutlery connection?

I bought an old Crucible Scout knife the other day. It's posted in the ALL SCOUT KNIVES thread. I was messing with it and decided to compare it to my old Challenge Cutlery stainless steel scout knife and pretty much everything on the 2 knives looked identical except the main blades and the screwdriver/bottle opener blades. The can openers and punches looked like they could have been off the same machines.

Anybody know of any connection between the two or were they simply using maybe a third party "jobber" for parts?

Crucible was a trademark used bt W.T.Grant department stores until around 1932. I own one knife stamped Crucible and is is a dead ringer, including the bone jigging,foa Valley Forge knife. I think they probably sold contract knives from any number of different makers
