Hello
I just found in a pawn shop a Case Peanut knife and it had 3 blades . Here is the interesting part 1 Clip blade is a 78' the other Clip blade is a 79' then the spey blade in the middle has the pattern # . could anybody give a clue on what this is . I have looked in a few of my books but no success .

You may want to post more info including a few pics.
Such as what was the actual pattern number on the third blade, knife overall length closed, and the pics.
Only 3 blade peanut (6320) I'm aware of was/is called a Scout.
Has the regular 20 pattern clip & pen blade plus the 20 1/2 style
spey blade.
I don't recall seeing any 6320 dating back to late 70s but you can probably fill a C47 with less than half of what I don't know about the multi-billion dollar cutlery bidniss.

I just reallized I didnt put the pattern number in my post 
its 6320 1/2 and I also failed to say that middle blade that is a spey blade is "serrated" I thought that was interesting . sorry I dont have a camera or i would post a picture

I "think" the 1/2 means use of the serrated blade. Am I right someone? They come both ways serrated and not. I recently saw a four bladed case peanut knife on ebay I kinda wanted because it looked genuine but had two pattern numbers on it. One was 5320 1/2 and the other was 5420 I think. I wondered if it was a mistake by Case or maybe they did that in the unusual 4 blade knives.

The 1/2 suffix added to any Case pattern number indicates it is a variant of the original pattern, usually a blade difference.
the 6220 1/2 changes a regular peanut to what is referred to as a trappernut. This replaces the pen secondary with a spey secondary.

A more common example is the barlow, 62009 has a spear blade as primary. 62009 1/2 has a clip blade primary.
Some of the 47 stockmans had a 1/2 variant which replaced the standard clip blade with the California or Turkish clip.
The 6265 Lrg Folding Hunter uses a SER suffix to indicate a serrated blade.
I'm not sure if that holds true for all Case w/a serrated blade.
Other lettered suffixes indicate specialty blades as well.
Such as SC for scissors, PU for punch, or HB for hobo.
