The Bench Lerch one dangerous knifer.

My Benchmade Lerch is the one knife i feel is dangerous, meaning it just has a bunch of dangerous items i like the blade design but this knife has a bad habit of snaping open sometimes in your pocke not sure the blade locking system is wide enough to hold the blade open or when closed.

Also when opening it you should make sure where your hand is because it really snaps open.

I don't feel the Benchmade Lerch meets the criteria of a tactical knife, it's what i feel it's just a pocket knife.
Now the Microtech Combat Troodon is a tactical knife

If you think there is a problem with the lock on the knife just send it to Benchmade. Their service department has always been great to me.

Sometimes the detent on framelock knives can be only minimally effective. Especially on an assisted opening knife.

I only have one assisted opening knife and it has a safety lock to lockout the spring and prevent accidental opening. You have to release the safety before the blade will open. That's the only way I would carry an assisted opening knife or an automatic knife for that matter. If the blade is spring-loaded and it doesn't have a safety, it's not going in my pocket.

As mentioned above, Benchmade will take care of it for you. If you don't want to do that, maybe make it a little project and take the knife apart to see if you can fix it yourself. Might be fun to try if you don't want to send it in.

I have that model myself but I don’t carry it because the safety switch worked its way loose. It clicks very softly into the locked position. Doesn’t feel secure at all. I’ve taken the knife apart and tightened the tiny screw that fastens the switch but it made no difference.

Would you happen to know any other way I can tighten it?

The knife in the OP doesn't look anything like yours, which is clearly marked LERCH. One or the other is older/ newer design?

I believe the OP's knife is the Lerch Subrosa

That is the full correct name "Lerch Subrosa" Thanks for making it clear as it has been years since i bought the knife and it's not marked as Subrosa on the knife.

It might be obvious to some but just to clarify, both knives are collaborations between Benchmade and custom knife maker Matthew Lerch. They are both his designs.

The little Lerch auto is also known as the Benchmade Impel.
