Unloading Small collection
I’m looking to sell a small collection that I started years ago, it’s no more than 10 knives, but how do I go about identifying and pricing each? Is it easier to just sell as a set?

It is easier to sell as a set, but you will make less money on them, typically.

I would start by making a list of the 10 knives with as much information as you can assemble. You’ll need that whether you sell them as a lot or individually. Note any model numbers, tang stamps, handle materials, length closed and anything that stands out to you, good or bad.Rmurphy702 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:33 pm I’m looking to sell a small collection that I started years ago, it’s no more than 10 knives, but how do I go about identifying and pricing each? I would then search recently sold eBay listings for the same knife to get a good ballpark idea on value. Remember that condition and market climate greatly affect value.
Selling them as a lot will be painless but you’ll be selling them at wholesale or below unless you find a collector who wants them all and is willing to pay up. Selling them individually may give you a bigger yield over time with the keyword being “may”. Most dealers are collectors but typically purchase collections at wholesale vs retail.
I see you’ve posted in the Colonel Coon forum, are those some of the knives you intend to sell?
