Thanks Charlie. Nice group shot of the canoes there. Love it when a collection follows a thread, having all the stag together is just gorgeous.

Some of you will have already seen this but I have explained previously that I am shameless about repeating photos. Many will have not seen this previously and my further justification is that I am celebrating my return to online after a weeks forced absence.

Nice collection of Katanas Garry.
Gus those are some nice fixed blades, I like stacked leather. Fallknivens makes some of the best you can buy anywhere.

I for one never get tired of viewing any of your knives anytime and as many times as you choose to show them to us, Garry, you have fine taste and it shows in what you collect so the viewing is always a pleasure, just like today's swords are.

I was just about to put out an All-Points Bulletin regarding where your whereabouts are lately, but you've cleared that up so said bulletin is hereby cancelled, welcome home. ::handshake::

Great to see you back. Cool display and swords. What happened, you're begging the question of what or who forced you into online exile for a week? Glad it's over though. ::shrug::

Nice Charlie, pocket worn is a favorite of mine. I found the best way to photograph them in the display case is to lift the glass lid out of the way, too much reflection when it’s down. That display would look great wherever you put it in the house.

Marco, you are very kind. As always.

Our service provider used to provide good service. Then it was taken over by a bigger outfit and service has been frustrating. Our recent problem was due to a "worn pin" at headquarters. I have no idea what a pin is, worn or otherwise.

I'm glad it was something like that, Garry, and not health related. None of us are getting any younger, so when I see a member M.I.A. I immediately become concerned. Glad to hear you're the old you.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing with my provider. Everything was rolling along nicely with very few interruptions and/or price increases, then the powers that be decided it would be a good idea to let a huge competitor swallow them up, and the service interruptions have increased by an uncountable amount along with price increases everywhere. I've been with the original company for 15+ years, but I'm giving serious thought to dropping them and going with the only other reliable option available to me up here.
You give an inch and they want your life. ::facepalm::
BTW, that "worn pin" they're telling you about, is the same as the "googling pin" or "foo-foo valve" your neighbourhood car mechanic tells you you need to keep running and costs $150., there just ain't no such thing.

Thanks SSS.

It's a mint set and sold as one piece in the display from the factory. There is no lid, you'd have to disassemble the display case from the back to move the glass. It's not that difficult but I won't open it unless I decide to break up the set...which isn't likely.

Marco, I was skimming through the last few posts and I saw the statement about a "worn pin" and I immediately thought that the one in your hip gave out ... ::skeptic:: ... So, upon closer examination, I am glad to read that you are doing OK and still in "one piece", so to speak.... ::paranoid:: even if several pins (worn or not ::paranoid:: ) are holding that one piece together. ::skeptic::

Sasquach, ::paranoid:: may I suggest a slight modification to your display that would make access a lot faster in case there was an emergency, were you really needed a Case XX Canoe fast..... ::paranoid::

Oh it’s one of “those” display cases. Case is big on display cases. I’ve asked on the Case forum if they could offer the CCC knives and others at a lower price without the display case or the higher price with it. They have always said no. They make great displays but an option without would be nice.

I considered the Tor but dang that thing is ginormous! Figured the Odin would suffice. Wouldn’t mind having the entire Northern Lights series though.

::rotflol:: Naw, I bought that one and a couple of smaller Case factory displays for investment value. There are plenty of other knives, axes, and swords laying around here if an "emergency" requiring an edged tool arises. ::nod::

I don't collect many of "those" displays. The ones I have all contain commemorative canoe pattern knives. The one I posted is the only mint set I have but I also have three single knife commemorative canoes in factory display cases, a Ducks Unlimited, A CCC 35 year anniversary, and A John Wayne commemorative. All of my other display cases have hinged lids and can easily be opened. Below is a photo of my "knife corner" which shows the majority of my displays, there are a couple of others elsewhere in the house.

Here is a family of knives that I spent some time accumulating. I finally got them all with the original clam shell boxes but the serial numbers don't match across all six knives. Searching for the same serial numbers would have made putting the set together virtually impossible.
