Saw a train Sat morning, 2 Norfolk Southern and a single Union Pacific pulling a few boxcars.

This is still my favorite BNSF paint scheme, the lettering is similar to older Santa Fe locos, and the "cigar band" nose is not unlike the warbonnet look. I always take notice when I see one still in this paint, which was in use from 1999-2005.

I've heard the phrase of coming through the rye, that ole Union Pacific is coming through the corn.
Here a couple of photos taken off of tv.

I saw your pictures before I read your post, and I thought you had taken pictures from a hotel window. I was ready to ask you where you were, and I was going to book a room with that view even if it was $500/night.

Re: Any Train Enthusiasts Out There?
Well that's Radnor yards and I don't know of any high rise hotels around there, but the old Union Station is now the Union Station Hotel and there are several tracks there with trains coming and going and there's generally some cars sitting on the sidings. I have no idea if you could rent a room for as little 500 clams
Nashville has become a destination city they have reportedly the highest room rent in the country. I wouldn't know.

Nice shots!
Ever seen a recessed flat car with a transformer load like Lionel made back in the 50's? Driving through Cumberland on Sunday, I spied this one just south of the Western Maryland Station.

Re: Any Train Enthusiasts Out There?
I also found this list of CSX Heritage units. Some are already in use and some will happen in the future.

Interesting pictures, and also the list of heritage units. I would hope, at some point, the units representing old lines from the midwest show up around here. It would be nice to get a glimpse of the L&N or the Pere Marquette. Most sightings seem to be in the SE.1967redrider wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 1:10 pm I also found this list of CSX Heritage units. August 3rd I spent the day on Cumbres & Toltec
Narrow Gauge RR. riding a photo freight sponsored by the Friends of the C&T RR. The train was a recreation of a Chili line train. The Chili line departed the DRGW narrow gauge main line At Antonio Colorado and ran down to Santa Fe NM back in the day.

Here’s a shot of restored 1889 Pullman sleeper car. This car is immaculate. Over 30k man hours to restore it

Couple shots that didn’t load the second time
I highly recommend riding the C&T it’s like stepping back in time 100+ years. If your ever in Southern Colorado or Northern New Mexico look em up

DRGW 168. Ten wheeler. she sat on display in a city park in Colorado Springs for decades. She was returned to service in 2019. Here we see, resting in the locomotive shed at Antonito, Colorado. There’s something about Ten wheelers that just turns me on. Mark
