This is something that caught my attention this morning. This is a very, common, ordinary Zippo lighter that could have been purchased at Walmart when it was new for $12 in the box, and yet here it is used and worn and has attracted 21 bids and is over $100. Why? - honestly, I don't know. I suspect it is kids playing games. There have only been 2 actual bidders and one just got in. I don't think money laundering because of the small $ amount involved. Then I happened to notice the familiar ring on the finger of the seller and that they are from KY. That sure looks to me like the same ring finger seller that sold scads of jacked up knives that were often discussed in the counterfeit forum a few years back. What is going on. I'd bet 25¢ that they don't get paid for this after the auction ends.

Re: Ebay Shenanigans
I wouldn’t take that bet - eBay makes it too easy for shady sellers to walk amongst us. I’m only listing fixed-price items with best offers accepted which eliminates some of the eBay challenges. I’m not sure how eBay would be able resolve the situation other than maybe limiting bidding to 1 per buyer

I have had problems too with kids playing games on eBay....messing up my sales and schemes.... in fact, I Would Have Gotten Away With It Too If It Weren't For Those Meddling Kids!
