OSS (or maybe USS) German Made Pen Knife Info Wanted - Any Ideas?

Post by herbva »

This small, German made pen knife came in a lot that I purchased a while back, and I can't find anything about this little guy. I think the tang stamp is "OSS", but there is a slight chance it could be "USS" (see attached pics). I've exhausted all of my reference books and all I get when I do searches on "OSS" is info about daggers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ::hmm::

I believe that the tang stamp should read
VOSS CUT CO

Thanks Skip! Do you think there is enough room for a "V" to fit in next to "OSS"? I keep looking at that stamp and am not sure. ::shrug::

You're welcome. ::tu::
The spaces between the letters "OSS" look pretty uniform.
I would measure the distance between the tops of each letter and
I would measure the distance between the bottoms of each letter.
Then measure backwards from the top of the "O" and backwards
from the bottom of the "O" You should be able to tell if a "V" could fit.

Thanks John! I was able to do the Little Valley show two weeks ago with the help of friends. Was actually a pretty good show, good selection of vendors, display only tables, and public. I think they will do it next year and bigger, you and Herb ought to try to get up there! Barry was visiting family about an hour away and he came three out of four days. You can get a nice motel nearby for $115 and gas on the reservation is cheap.
