TF, me and all my friends are way to fat to make a copperhead belt.treefarmer wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 11:09 am Goodness, Mike! Y'all must be infested with Copperheads.
The one y'all skinned, will you turn it into a hat band, it'd way too short for a belt for anybody I know.![]()
Cottonmouths and Eastern Diamondbacks are the bad ones we see. Every now and then someone mentions a copperhead.

I love that the mother felt that your yard was a safe place for her baby. Deer pass through my yard often, but I suppose that we are too loud for them to want to stay.wlf wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 8:34 pm I like the black raspberries much better than the red.
A yearly happening around here is the deer fawning inside your yard. Usually the doe jumps our 5' fence and calves in the center of the backyard. They do it to evade the coyotes . The mother comes early in the mornings and nurses the fawn as it will go between the fencing . The fawn returns after nursing inside the fencing.
It could have been an emergency or who knows what, as this year, the fawn is against the house in our ferns and outside the fence.
We live on a the hill overlooking the city proper.
The second fawn was last year's. It's picture was taken from the deck above as it laid at the end of a vegetable planter.
These bucks were grazing on downed shrubbery about daylight one morning a few years ago and could possibly be the fawn's father.
But it's not the last one for sure, he never made it out of the town proper.

I'm in the habit of going out on the back porch right before going to bed, the last 2 nights I've seen the biggest doe I believe I've ever seen nosing around my bird feeders, I doubt I can get a photo but l may try tonight if she shows up, last night my flash light reflected off 4 eyes out in the hay field.

Today between the neighbor and us. They eventually scampered around to the backyard below our fence and out of sight.

Cool trail, John. Hope the temperature wasn't bad. It was hot here this weekend, but much milder now.

Scott, you're one tough old bird!
Don't let that old proverbial bear come out of those bushes and overtake you. Sure been warm in the Panhandle.

It's so hot and dry at the farm, I had to water the cow's hooves to make sure they don't spark a wildfire on a rock. Ken will know what I'm talking about.

Ever seen a black fox squirrel with a blonde tail?
These are screenshots from a video i took. Little bugger was too fast for a decent picture.

That is a bizarre sight. I have seen plenty of black squirrels in Michigan, but never one with a tail like that.
