Knife Patterns

Anyone know where I could find a chart of different pocket knife patterns? I have searched the internet & on here, but not finding much. The info may be here but I’m not finding it. I have tried searching patterns, knife patterns, pocket knife patterns, pocket knife styles. Thank for any help.

The Research section right here on AAPK has a pretty good pattern name guide. They’re Case patterns but aside from a couple unique to Case, they’re pretty much standard for any company. A pattern name is a pattern name regardless who makes it.

On my Android phone it's in the light gray header at the top of each AAPK page. Just click on it.

Once again Ken thank you. Got it now. Been on here a couple years and have never been able to find it & it was right in front of my face. Mine is so light I can barely see it.

You may be able to fix that by changing the screen lightness/darkness setting on your phone. Should be under your phones Settings. Mine has a slider that you can move lart to right to change it.

Well guys in my infinite stupidity I broke out my books a good friend had sent me and I found multiple listings from multiple manufacturers of their patters. I thought (this was my first mistake) that I knew these books, but obviously I had forgotten what was in them. I absolutely love books and don’t know why I didn’t go to these first. Thanks for all the help.

The best and most complete reference for knife patterns I know of is Levine’s Guide to Knives. It contains just about every known knife pattern, but not in chart form. It has chapters about different patterns including their historical backgrounds, with descriptions and pictures of the variants. Unfortunately out of print but copies can be found at on-line used book sellers like www.abebooks.com. All editions are good, the 4th Edition is pricey, the 5th Edition is the same as the 4th except for the price guide (which is long obsolete anyway). The main reason IMHO for the popularity of the 4th edition is that Levine had a snit over the 5th edition with the publisher and slandered it. I have both editions - there are few differences and in fact most of the contents are identical.

Great info Ken. I actually found some of the info I was looking for in my 3rd edition. Maybe I will look for a 4th edition at some point. Thank you again for all the help.
