Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
I just received a Sharp branded knife advertised as a “Peanut”. It looked to me more like a “Serpentine Jack”and I believe it is just that. I really like the pattern, but it can be hard to find as it falls between the “Peanut” and the pen blade version of a small “Trapper”. This one had extra appeal as I worked at K-Mart during the time when “Sharp” knives were a Sporting Goods Department staple.
I think it fits well with my other 3 “Serpentines”

What a beautiful knife, Garry, and coming from Mark you gotta know it's quality.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 12:41 pm I received a great addition to my Coke-Bottle collection from Mark at Sharpnshinyknives. This is a Robeson Shuredge, 5 1/8" closed with a 4" blade, set off by vivid Strawberry Red scales. Well centered blade, tight runup, half-stop, fine walk and talk: this knife has given me lots to enjoy.
I needed to overexpose to even approach showing how striking the red is. In hand, it is brilliant.

I have long admired coke-bottle knives, but have little luck finding any with spear-point blades, so the search continues.
I actually like your pictures, on my screen the entire picture, background, knife, everything is shimmering bright and IMO looks teriffic, well done.

I never worked at K-mart, but I used to love shopping there. I too buy Sharp brand knives. I have had some since I was a teen-ager, and love 'em.Gtrclktr-351 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 9:15 pm I just received a Sharp branded knife advertised as a “Peanut”. That's a fun collection there Reverand. I'm also a fan of Sharp. My favorites being those made in Japan with the Colonials a close second. I'm a sucker for a hobo knife too. That 175 with wood handles is one of my favorite barlows. I'd call it maybe a barlow light or barlowesque, the narrower taper is different and I like it.Reverand wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 12:21 amI never worked at K-mart, but I used to love shopping there. That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.

I see it looks like you also have a Model 270 Peanut/Serpentine Jack in your very nice Sharp collection.
I never bought a Sharp knife while employed at K-Mart. At that point knives were just a daily tool (a Sabre Serprntine that was lost or stolen at some time and replaced recently), or a high school fad (an orange pearloid YCC Melon Tester that I still have after almost 60 years).

Sorry to be so late in responding Reverand. I finally did some cleaning and some pencilReverand wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 9:51 pmNice knife! I am not doubting you, brother, but from the picture I would swear it has a tang stamp. I cannot read it, and it might even be random spots of rust, but it looks like lettering to me. Here is a screenshot where I played around with the brightness & contrast:

Here are my 2 newest RoseCraft Blades from our friend Tony at Corn Creek Cutlery.
Perfect blade alignment, no gaps anywhere and a resounding snap when closed. Terrible photo skills on my part.

DK, the Savage Creek Gunstock is the only spade shield currently .... but Monday July 15, a new release will be available with a spade shield also.Dullest_knife wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 9:33 pm The black spade shield on the RC knife- is it part of a set - with red heart and diamond shield- etc etc
It is called the Sequatchie River Muskrat I have them in stock, and will upload a listing here early Monday morning.
I cannot make them avaiable until RoseCraft releases them also, on Monday morning. They are strict concerning us all releasing new knives at the same time. I can offer you a preview, which is a RCB stock photo. I will put my photos up Saturday evening, after I get back from a festival I am selling at.

Glad you like it Garry. Just now getting a chance to catch up on this thread. The red bone on that is bright and beautiful, it’s hard to capture in a photo. I’ve found that the Robeson’s by Queen are one of my favorite brands that Queen made, they rank right up there with Schatt and Morgan.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 12:41 pm I received a great addition to my Coke-Bottle collection from Mark at Sharpnshinyknives.
