Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
My 1st disappointment in Rough Ryder comes with this knife. The blade is very stiff opening and closing even after lubing with a couple of different types of lubricant. I attached pictures that show the large gap in the aliment of the lock back portion and where the bottom of the blade's tang meet. All other Rough Ryders have been great so far, so I was surprised when I received this one. I am going to keep it only because I really the bone scales.

Sorry, but that hurts to look at TOPDOG. I don't care how nice the scales are, that would be headed back to the seller...GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 11:12 pm My 1st disappointment in Rough Ryder comes with this knife. You can't live in Hobo Camp properly unless you have quality knives...

Well it is a $20 POS from China so there's that. But that one is bad even for RR.
To those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected ones will never know.

Yea, I’d send it back, Dog. I have several RRs, and the worst problem I’ve had on a few is weak snap. I don’t send them back, though, if that’s all that’s wrong. Don’t get down on RR. I just sent a Case back in for repair - a three blade Large Stockman. Talk about bad alignment! Whew!

I have over 100 Rough Ryder knives in my collection and I just went and checked a few of them and I didn't find anything like what you've shown in that one. At the very least I'd take that back to the dealer you bought it from and ask to exchange it for another one providing that's not a problem that shows up in all of them in that same pattern or call SMKW customer service. That would really aggravate me, good luck hope you get a new one....GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 11:12 pm My 1st disappointment in Rough Ryder comes with this knife. I feel for you, Dog, that really is unacceptable, and you know how liberal I am with knives. I think David's suggestion to return it for an exchange is likely the best idea, just because there's one bad apple doesn't mean the whole barrel is bad, and who knows the replacement might be perfect and you'd have a knife you really like, instead of one you just tolerate cuz it has nice covers. The seller should pay for all the shipping's as well for letting a knife like that outta their store.GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 11:12 pm My 1st disappointment in Rough Ryder comes with this knife. I received a great addition to my Coke-Bottle collection from Mark at Sharpnshinyknives. This is a Robeson Shuredge, 5 1/8" closed with a 4" blade, set off by vivid Strawberry Red scales. Well centered blade, tight runup, half-stop, fine walk and talk: this knife has given me lots to enjoy.
I needed to overexpose to even approach showing how striking the red is. In hand, it is brilliant.
