I like the way this ebay seller tells his customers that he will take money orders and checks.

I like it - a lot! And I like the knife too. Those old beat up carriers that somebody used a lot, but cared enough not to lose them. It reminds me of a little Robeson I picked up not long ago, seen better days but it seems to fit in my pocket real good.

Many people think that the payment to ebay sellers now requires paypal. It does not, as long as the buyer and seller want to do something else, it is legal with ebay. The seller MUST, however, accept paypal if the buyer wants it. I bought an item awhile back without noticing that the seller wrote "I do not accept paypal." Rather than raise a stink I sent a check, because I wanted the item, but I think he got by with something. He was an ornery cuss, too, although ebay policies could make a man grumpy. Another time, I phoned a seller and made him an offer he accepted. He stopped the auction for my benefit. I'm not sure that's legal either, because there was a bid out on it (not mine). If a seller puts an email address or phone number in his listing, you can be sure that he is willing to deal outside the ebay system, if he can. Sometimes they say "I reserve the right to sell locally before the auction ends." That could be a tipoff for a possible offsite sale also, because it really is just an ad, for a small listing fee. I don't know whether ebay spies on the "messages" that buyers and sellers use (?). Just some thoughts.

I may be DONE with EBAY! TOO HOT right now to say for sure. I was bidding on Wendell Carson Trapper and EBAY decided in their infinite wisdom that the listing did not meet THEIR criteria and it was against THEIR policy so they took it down. It was a gorgeous Ivory handled knife and Wendell did his best to let the pics do the talking for the listing. I guess someone turned him in to the EBAY POLICE! Anyhow I called and gave ebay a piece of my attitude - I feel better now - I think! Anyway EBAY may lose another user tonight or this weekend, I will wait to see if I cool off. They say they are protecting me - HAH - I needed them to protect me on a diamond and they allowed a crook to pocket a $250.00 restocking fee on me a few months back. NO PAYPAL PROTECTION FOR YOU! Well, nuff of my whining and ranting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
