Reading an old thread on B.F. I found posts by two members who examined RR Cinnamon Bone Stag Damacus blades with jeweler's loops. One first used abrasives on the side of the blade. The other examined the spine. Both saw layers so it's real Damacus. While I doubt you'll ever learn what alloy it is it is a safe bet that it is not stainless.
Apparently you own one. If you've used it, while sharpening it does it feel harder or softer than other common blade steels like RR 440A, Case CV or Surgical Stainless or 1095? What's its edge retention similar to?
