Wow! A farmer’s whittler? Who’d a thunk it?
I have never seen a farmer’s jack in the wild. I’d like to though.
Thanks Floyd, JP, and Wade I'm glad there's still people following and talking about old knives. I hope Bryan always keeps this great archive of knowledge and pictures intact. It's a shame what's been lost in Blade Forums.
Wade bring the boys and come to the Lexington KY show, there's supposed to be some there. May 24-25.

I’d love to make the Lexington show. I don’t know if it’ll happen this year, but eventually!

There's a all knive show at the Kentucky Horse Park Memorial weekend on Friday and Saturday only.
I had to wait to post this one until John guessed this one in the Mystery knife thread.
Siletto Cutlery NY. A brand of Pacific Hardware and Steel. Some say Napanoch made, probably hard to tell with this example ? You can't be too choosy with this pattern.
2479 stamped on pile side of the master blade. Any ideas?

.....and they just keep coming! Great patina on a classic knife.
We've seen this wonderful jigging on handles a lot, but not often do we see different colors on opposite sides .
A Bartlett Manufacturing Company stamped Schrade Cut Co farmers jack. One brown, one black. I had heard of black peach seed bone in Sargent's catalogs , but had only seen black composition, which has a more open peach seed design.
Top is composition, bottom is black bone.

That Bartlett stamped Farmers Jack is a Dandy
That photo of the composite and the bone really does show the difference in jigging well.
Like Floyd do appreciate your sharing pics and info .
This is an older Valley Forge than the others I have , with nice bone. I first seen this knife on eBay in 2012 and it was already sold. My Mommy was in the hospital and I was distracted and not even paying attention to eBay.
I wish I could have bought it for the price it sold back then. Our own rattlesnake? Mark sold it on eBay.
I try and track these. I don't know why I photographed the knife with the blades open like they are. I know better. You should never have blades half open on single spring opposite enders.
I thought I had posted this one.
French ivory Humphreys Radiant . I haven't seen much of German or English knives with French ivory . In contrast to pressed stag ,which thus far, has never been seen on an American made knife.
A big heavy , but thin knife , at 4 1/4 inches.
