This Nolichucky was a bomb from Corn Creek Cutlery and so far excellent. Really done well, transitions flawless. Run up excellent. Walk and talk exemplary. Plus I really like the spear shape, very pretty bone, and very sharp out the box. Thanks again CCC. Really

Great knife, I-man, I have mine on the way.
When I first saw your picture, I thought you had modified the blade by cutting a v-notch out of the tip to make it 2 prongs, along with the juices running down the blade looking like filework. But, then realizing you wouldn't likely do something like that I enlarged the picture only to find the prongs being a chunk of tomato or red-pepper and the filework tomato/r-p juice, duh!

I will put the quality of RoseCraft knives up against any mass market maker. The ones I have gotten are flawless in every way. The spring to liner fit is so well done that on an all stainless steel knife, you have to look close to see a seam. Blades are always centered, and sharp. Grinds have been perfectly done. Zero proud pins or perceptible bolster transitions.

Politics aside. Whoever is running the show "over there" is doing a great job.

I have no interest in any of their tactical stuff.

STAG Savage Creek Gunstock

I've ordered another RoseCraft knife from our member at Corn Creek Cutlery. That will make my
sixth one to order in the traditional patterns and is now my brand of choice for EDC. I wish they
would come out with a penknife that I could carry in my dress slacks.

My latest from Rosecraft Blades. CASE needs to step up their game. Pay attention to what RCB is doing.

They make nothing that compares to the quality of this Nolichucky and the other RC's I own.

Some great looking knives, guys! Rosecraft Blades are good. I’m just struggling with $80 for a knife made in China. Don’t mean to offend anyone. It just seems the more popular something gets, the more the prices start slipping up. I do have some China knives - several Rough Ryders, and they’re good knives - and I’ll buy more. But they’re also like $15-$20 on average.

But the situation is now there are excellent knife makers taking advantage of cheap Chinese labor. Check out Reate manufacturing. They make this Esnyx knife by American award winning designer and maker, Evan Nicolades. It's custom quality, very well done. Also this fine Rose Craft. They both blow away the regular run Case knife quality. Centering, transitions, lack of any gaps, run up. They put my last few Case knives to shame. And these companies are responding to issues and problems and fixing them. Case is not. Me and a lot of others have written Case asking them to step up quality. We are ignored over and over. They don't believe there is a problem. The Rose Crafts, Rough Riders, Jack Wolf and Esnyx companies listened, then went out and fixed the issues, then perfected their products to excellent everything. The Rose craft was a bomb from Corn Creek. The Esnyx I bought on sale for 149. They both are Excellent everything. Blew me away. I would pay a bit more for a much better knife. I hate to say it but I quit buying modern Case knives. Had to because they were so bad and wouldn't fix 'em. But once in a while I buy this kind because they are so good. And when the bomb came I was blown away. Thanks again Corn Creek.

Take advantage of the offshore RC's while you can. They are planning to start making them in the US at some point. I'm sure the prices will be much higher.

I would like to add, I don't have details about China knife factories, but there are a few of these factories are manufacturing some very high quality knives consistently. Prices can be as high as $300 and up, depending. Everyone values a knife in different ways, with country of origin being one. For example, I put a lot of value in Seki Japan made in my collections, but I also have many many German, Chinese, Spanish, and American made knives that I value just as high. A knife itself, the overall quality, F&F, action, etc., no matter the origin is where I place value.
Brands other than those already mentioned are Bestech, Kansept, and many Begg Knives models are also made in China, and Very Good pieces.

I agree about the discussion on Case. I am a lifetime member of the CCC and I rarely buy a knife from Case anymore. When I bought my first Moki I started losing my affection for Case after I saw how well a knife can be made and wasn’t being made by Case. When I tried to sell several of my collected Case knives, I was shocked at what prices I could get for them, didn’t hold value at all and that really stopped me from acquiring more. I won’t collect the older Case knives since there are so many counterfeits out there and I am not an expert in figuring out which knives are real and which are fakes. So rather than keep hitting my head against a rock I switched to collecting Japanese, Queen made knives and GEC knives. When it comes to this hobby of knife collecting you have to learn from your mistakes and move on to something that excites you and that’s what I have done.

Well said Mark! I have never collected Case, although I do have a few. I am an odd man out I guess, because everyone in my parts does collect Case, and most of them, collect nothing but. Gives me opportunity to move 'em when I can find good ones.

I have a few Queens, keep ones of the RoseCrafts patterns I like, but no GECs. Although GEC prices are through the roof now, eventually I will get to them ... their quality is second to none. Presently, I am too busy buying Hattori, Tak Fukuta, Hattori Kershaws (5 more on the way), Lakota, Browning Japan, and others from the Seki area. The 70s- early 80s Smith & Wesson are on my radar also. Bulldog Brand ... always looking! I have a lot of recent acquisitions that are not yet posted ... get to it when time permits.

Mark, you turned me onto the Japanese made knives pretty much. That and Spanish made are what I look for now. I like certain Taiwan knives also. I used to collect a lot of Buck and Schrade knives early in my collecting. But now, will only buy a limited edition once in a while, and currently selling off many Buck and Schrades from the collection. Think it is called "evolving". The Japan and Spanish made ARE exciting! Just one collector's opinion.

Stock whited out photos like most sites have don't truly show a knife's character, in my opinion Mark. That is why I take my own, with different angles, etc. I ask Andy about the spear point ... no plans currently. I think your described design would be great!!

Never had my hands on a French broad before, double meaning implied. Got mine from Tony today along with a polishing cloth he included, thank you Tony. This is my third Rosecraft Blades knife and I must say it is a brand worth collecting. No idea if the value of these will hold or go up over time, but for the quality and price they are worth your time and money.
This knife is more stout than it looks. The blade stock is pretty thick and so is the spring so it has a surprising amount of tension and snaps very crisply with a bit of a hard pull, but not a thumb breaker. Very nice centering on the blade and a tight run up. I like that it has no brass, that’s a big selling point for me.

I agree Mark and his assessment of the brand, I'm waiting on two more from Tony, this same one and a surgeon's knife.
Without looking I think this makes 7 of the RoseCraft knives I will have. I'm very pleased.
