Wanted to share a couple before and after pics of the $2 Schrade improved muskrat I bought yesterday.
I stumbled on to something might try again. I used a few drops of Sea Foam fuel treatment on the joints to loosen and clean them up. It worked quickly and great. Not only that but it immediately brought out the color on the handles that were bleached out. I didn't intend to use it on the handles but accidentally got some on them. Anyway I'm pretty happy with how it came out with some more cleaning sharpening.

Nice pick ups gents, Robpa, that is killer horn, and age, and condition. GSP, like that. Marco another beauty. Sweet Coleman CCC. Dullest knife, RRRick, nice all of ya.

Not usually an auto man but picked up a few lately. Here's a Cobratech Trapper that is surprisingly good. Seventy nine smackers, free ship. Excellent action, fit, finish, centering, everything great but the disappointing color in the covers. They could have been a lot better, might make some of my own. But outherwise this blows away the AKC, and Krate Tactical that I had recently. They were so wobbly and clunky and uncomfortable in the pocket I had to let them go. This is a keeper. Cool sliding bolster trigger and release. Very smooth and no button or lever in the way.

Good job on that Muskrat, Doug! Looks great!

Absolutely beautiful Coleman, CCC! Love that color!

I actually like those covers, Iman. If you change them out, but sure and let us see a before and after. Sounds like a really good quality knife!

Many thanks, Tim, ::handshake:: with your opinion now in, Kerry, myself, and you all choose the Tak-F folder as our favorite.
I too have other knives from Tak-F, and each is as nice as the others. Tak worked with many renowned knife-makers, and they turned out some very nice knives, folders and fixed blades. When you're hot you're hot!

I'm hearing mixed comments about those Cobratech autos, I-man, some good some bad, and by the sounds of it you caught a good one. It's a fine looking knife. bud.
I also don't object to the red covers whereas usually I would, probably due to them being blood-red and not fire-engine red.
I'm a big fan of cover/bolster release autos, and I've considered buying a C-Tech since that opening system might just get past Customs, but I'll need to act soon before they figure them out.

Ivoryman, I think those red scales are the bomb! So how the knifw fire with the bolster? Twist or what?

Thanks Marco, Toomany. Nice of ya.

RRRick, it is a slide. The bolster has a textured thin outer cover piece on a spring that slides about 1/8 inch towards the spine, then springs back. Sliding opens the knife, and releases the blade to close it. Very clever and smooth. Works great and is impressive to me. Thanks for the mention.

Glad you like it Tony. Nice picture of that one. Sowbellies are my favorite pattern of all and that is one good looking sowbelly.

Iman that is an interesting auto. I kinda like those scales on that.

Yep, it certainly is, rdnzl, and I like that, does it have just that one blade? ::shrug:: Thx!
I have long admired Victorinox knives, but I like knives with only one spear-point blade, and possibly until right now depending on what you tell me, I haven't see any. Really like the grey color too.
