Re: date on a crucible knife
Here's the only one I have;a 3 blade stockman with a matchstriker nail mark and very unusual celluloid scales.Sorry for the lousy pictures;I'm still trying to figure out how to take good close up shots with my new camera.

Re: date on a crucible knife
What is the number stamped on reverse side of the knife mean??? Is it the manufactured year? All I get is that it was manufactured from 1926-1929.. but I've noticed there are different style of can opener... Would love to know more about this find please

Re: date on a crucible knife
Some manufacturers stamped pattern numbers on the reverse (pile) side, opposite their company or brand name. Could also be a pattern number, or in rare cases a date. Sometimes the numbers are on a secondary blade. If you post a picture of the blade with the numbers, someone here will probably know.
