Possible Help on IXL knife??

Ok y’all. I have another one from an auction I picked up that I need some assistance with. This dude has been through a lot in its life! Some took a grinder to it to put an edge on it, at least it looks that way?! They ground the name off the tang even! Must have been a kid not knowing what they had??!! Any way, please look at the photos and see what you think. This one is perplexing to me because I thought it was a hawk I’ll until I opened it and it ends up being a straight blade?!! I am not sure if someone modified the hawkbill into this current blade or if there were some that were made this way? It is a very heavy older knife with a wonderful feel in the hand. No wobble and incredible snap. Can anyone help me kinda date this one and tell me the name of the knife? Thank y’all so much!

I*XL, George Wostenholm, Sheffield, 1890-1971.(Became Rogers/Wostenholm after 1971) The blade is so ground down its hard to say if it began as a hawk or a half hawk . From the looks of what's left of the kick it could have been a hawk. Look at the pic of this hawk and notice the kick is not filed down. Imagine filing away as much as yours and how the worn down blade would fit. I also notice the blade stamp is farther forward than mine but I'm not sure that's relevant. I would guess it to be 100 or more years old. Still a nice relic. J.O'.
