Vintage Knife but with Acid Etching?

I've got this good looking pocket knife that looks like it could be a vintage Schrade, Case, or similar except for the fact that it has no tang stamp whatsoever and it has acid etching which I thought was a more contemporary practice (though I don't know much of the practice).

Can anyone shed light on the maker and decade of this knife?

I agree looks like it’s engine turned almost.

Looks like someone attempted to “jewel” the blade similar to the treatment seen on bolts of some rifles. Mechanical using a drill press. Good experiment on a low value knife.

Hmmm. You're all probably right about the mechanical etching rather than chemical. Etching aside, what are your thoughts on who the knife maker might be?

Those blades look homemade, no factory would do a sloppy nail mark like you see on the main blade. Someone probably fitted them into some old Colonial or similar low cost knife. It's a hodgepodge of knife parts.
