Gorham Sterling Silver Pocket Knife

Hi, I am new to the world of Knife collecting and truly don't know why I started. I don't have anything heart stopping in my collection but I have one that I have questions about and as of yet my Internet searches have only produced one other like the one I have. It is Gorham Sterling Silver Pocket Knife according to the makers mark made somewhere between 1865 and 1868. They are sometimes referred to as Fruit Knives. what makes this one a bit different is most of the ones I have found have been single blades made of Coin Silver ( .800 ) but this one and the one I did find like it on the Internet has Two blades and is Sterling. If anyone can shed more light on this little Jewel or lump of coal as it may be it would be greatfully appreciated.

If you google "ghoram silver" you will find all kinds of stuff. They must be known more for their silver productions than knife productions.

The late John Goins' Encyclopedia lists the mark on cutlery from 1860 to present day. He specifically mentions silver fruit knives. It isn't a sure thing that they made the entire knife....but, maybe they did.

If you're Googling, I believe the correct spelling is GORHAM....which might make a difference.

I can't guarantee that your knife, or Gorham will be in the book, but I'd suspect Gorham certainly would. It's not too expensive, and might be worth a shot.
