I have some of the Spartan USA blades and I like their products, all very well done. That Spartan Blades George Raider Dagger is a great looking piece...
Sort of a Fairbairn Sykes commando knife with a modern more comfortable handle and the durability of a kydex sheath...Nice
You done good!!!

I don't think you will be disappointed CxIII. The handles fit well to my hand, supper quality in nice overall sizes. I met the company founders Mark Carey and Curtis Lovito, years ago in 2008 at Shot Show when they just started the company. Very nice guys.Corn Creek Cutlery wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 12:46 amThanks TopDog! That is the only Spartan I have right now ... but see a change to that coming. Gonna look for a USA Spartan next.

Those videos were a big part of the reason I like C/S knives as much as I do, buddy. and their 13" "Hold-out III" is another favorite of mine. It has more handle to grab but feels similar when you're holding it. It also folds down to about 6 1/2" so you can slip it into a back pocket if so desired, whereas the "Tai*Pan requires it's sheath.GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 2:03 amM&M ...For a long time, I considered the Cold Steel 13" d-e Tai*Pan / Cross-cut Kray-Ex handle (Japan Made Version; JMV) to be the ultimate Bad-Ass Dagger (BAD). I remember the old "Proof" videos put out by C.S. and they would punch that dagger through 25 sheets of roofing tin, then bend the blade in a vice to something like a 40-degree angle w/o breaking it... that is a must have for any dagger collector...
I am sure the one they make in Taiwan are just as good ...
as we know the steel keeps getting better over time and manufacturing processes too...
IMO the Cold Steel 13" d-e Tai*Pan is one of the knives you grab when the world is coming to an end...
and you are facing the Zombie apocalypse...

My jaw dropped when I saw these knives bending in the vise, I was amazed anything metal could do that.
Their "Ti-Lite 6", "Counterpoint 6", and large "Luzon" are also monster folders, and I can hardly believe I'm saying this but, that are almost too big for my liking, but all are already represented in my accumulation and they're staying there.

Thanks, buddy, and I'll give you a little tip on how to avoid being cut by a big knife or any knife for that matter, if you grasp them by their handles and not by their blades, your chances of not being cut improve greatly!jmh58 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 2:36 pmMadmarco wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 2:23 amYou bet, buddy, and yes I do remember, and I also remember thinking how I admire your patience for waiting for the right one!Corn Creek Cutlery wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 9:57 am

Marco, in one of the proof videos the take a lock-back "Vaquero" (I think) and put the blade in a vice and tie a rope to the handle and keep adding weight to it rope until there is something like 10,000 lbs.Madmarco wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 4:17 amMy jaw dropped when I saw these knives bending in the vise, I was amazed anything metal could do that.
