Here I thought Herb had most of the 10th Mountain Division Ulsters. Awesome group, Dimitri.

I only have a few of these, but the "type 1" model with the phillips screwdriver bit attached to the bail is my favorite. Apparently the bit is quite prone to coming detached with any real use.

I blazed a lot trails and injured a lot of trees with it out in West Texas. Truth is that my Dad, in addition to being a Marine, was also a bit of a cook and he used to use it to chop up avocados and lettuce for guacamole. I paid less than $5 for it so it has served well.

That’s why these historically rooted knives are kinda different and special.

Unlike typical production knives, these knives were produced for the purpose of fighting against tyranny in a global war. They carry that story, and can be seen as tangible markers of that specific point in history.

At the same time, they can be a knife that stands as a personal reminder of the fond memories we hold dear.

My first bayonet for the first rifle I ever bought:

WW2 Mauser 98k bayonet (1944) with red/brown Bakelite handle, along with a pin & a (German/Austrian?) lighter.

Most were picked up through online auctions, but the LF&C trench was bought at a gun show. The 10th Mountain bottom right was bought recently at an antique store in New York for $18. Thanks!

In the picture is two silver coins minted in the US for the Philippines during the war.

A “Lazy Dog” kinetic air dropped projectile

And… my WW2 Camillus 4-line TL-29s

This is where I need y’all’s help. I believe that I may have every variation of this type…

the top is brass pins, liners, linerlock, with nickel-silver shield and bolsters

Then the next one down has no shield, steel bolsters and two steel pins the rest is brass

Then the next one is the same but has a steel linerlock with brass liners

The last one is all steel

Do y’all have another variation besides these???

I’m still on the lookout for a bone handled one.

All Steel?

Steel bolster, 4 steel pins, steel linerlock, steel liners.
The only thing not steel on that one is the wood handles

Ahhh.....I thought you meant that the whole knife was steel.
