1968 Schrade-Walden 127UH

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

1968 Schrade-Walden 127UH

Post by black mamba »

I very fortunately snagged this knife off the bay last week and it is MINT! No box, but the knife is absolutely unused and unsharpened, and is obviously a first year knife with the thick handle covers and the 00783 serial number.

Shown here on the right with a newer Schrade USA 127UH to show the thickness of the covers.

Absolutely one of my all time favorite Schrade knives!
I have a edc and a museum quality SW 127UH.
Once you use the thick handled 127, you can't go back to the newer ones!

That is a nice, early, Schrade - Walden Uncle Henry you have there!
I agree.... that pattern fits nicely in your hand and is a truly useful knife. One of the best!
