I realize this is an older thread but I had to comment about how much I love all the photos!! And you’re right, there’s something special about knives with bone handles.

Been collecting, trading and selling kniver since 1964. I must say, in all my years in this hobby, I have never seen a more beautiful array of bone handles. The more unique side of this reveal is that most all cutlery companies, even the now least desirable models, covered their knives with beautiful bone back in the day. Thanks brother for your excellent lesson.

I-MAN, you "done flung a craving on me" (as my old Cajan buddy from Louisiana used to say), for a Cattleman's knife with your outstanding GEC Cattleman's knife. I waited and kept on looking and I just found this Case XX Cattleman's knife (1920-1940 (some say 1919 - 1945) ) in bone and the blades are super tight (some staining/oxidation, small chips on the spey blade). I really am amzaed how tight the blades are .... I guess I owe it all to you... ... Thanks I-Man After some clean up and sharpening it should be an awesome EDC and or great piece just to hold in my hand.

Hey that is the kind. Great score, excellent era for Case bone. That should clean up to beautiful, about full blades and the jigging is sweet and the color is tops. Congrats on a score from 3 point range.
