What year was this Old Crafty made?
Picked up this Old Crafty knife at the Kentucky Knife Show yesterday.
(#9546) Does anyone know when it was made? I catalog my
knife purchases which include date made.

Bob, I’ve got that same knife - the number on the one I have is 9547. Can’t remember how I got the info, but the best I could date mine was anytime between 1966-present. I catalog my knives, too, with date and other info.

Tim is right; I don't think you can get much closer date-wise. It appears to be a Schrade 34OT.

The knife definitely appears to have been made in the US, so I would date it as 1966 to 2004.
That doesn't narrow it a great deal but it does a little bit.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Old Crafty shield was discontinued in the 1980's but I can't recall where I saw that so it may not be true.

I suspect you are right Eric, I don't think they were made anywhere close to the time that Schrade closed.

I believe that Craftsman logo etch was mostly a sixties era logo for Sears. In the seventies they used a rectangular block logo.
