Just picked up the chef knife this AM. I gotta say that chefs knife has a wonderful hand feel and it is mighty at prepping veggies. I near perfect rocker for dicing. Havent had a chance to use the chopper yet.
The moki clone he made for me is a much in demand style. probably my mostest favoritist so far. Now for a Ulu to go with the kitchen set of knives. but Im gonna have to wait until october now! As a side note, the spalted maple came off matts own woodlot. I think I have 8 from matt now.

sweet Barlow, like the blade, long pull, swedge, covers. Thats a looker. And the bones make for good background. Excellent shots. ::tu::
::handshake:: thanks I-man, I AM HAPPY WITH IT, ::paranoid:: IT MAY NOT BE A GEC.... ::hmm:: but it is USA made and I can also order one and NOT pay a "flipper" 2x what they paid for it.... ::skeptic::

My latest acquisition is this A.G. Russell whittler. Redesigned in 2007 with fuller blades, I included a picture from an old catalog I have of his. You can see the difference in the picture with the two whittlers. The one on bottom is an obvious Queen made whittler and one that was available for the prior 10 years. Both stag handles. From the looks of the two frames I would say that Queen had a hand in the making of the redesigned one as well.

Both welcomed I bet. Would the top one be classified as a carriage knife? Both wonderful.

Thanks everyone for your comments. The SHAPLEIGH is my favorite and there is not a speck of dirt, rust, or pocket lint anywhere on that knife. It will be in my pocket Sunday morning.
