I buy the cheap stuff. In years gone by, I have bought some expensive stuff but it all tastes the same to me. I guess I don't have a discerning pallet and that doesn't bother me in the least.

If you guys ever visit the DC area, it will be a good reason for me to break out the Blue.

From my recent trip to Frankfurt, Lawrenceburg and Danville, KY. 150th running of the Kentucky Derby.

The Sinatra has more flavor and very smooth. One of the few whiskeys I can drink neat and enjoy. Regular JD requires a splash of Coke. I only break it out for special occasions like birthdays, graduations and such.
But, is it worth the cost? Not really, there are many excellent bourbons for less than half the price. Woodford Double Oaked is one I enjoy.

We're staying in the Historic Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach, this is the booze distilled on site. I picked up two King Nepture Bourbon, limited edition to 15 bottles, over 125 Proof and no Rye.

One to drink, one to keep.

Side note- there are reports of other spirits here as well. Adolph Coors fell to his death here from the 6th Floor at the age of 82 in 1929. Supposedly when authorities arrived the window was closed, but it was determined to be a suicide. He was found in the morning on the south garden side of the building.
