I-Man .... I'm still drooling over the Schatt & Morgan Knives .... Wow! I hope you stayed strong during the show... if not ... ... hmmm my guess is that you are sleeping under a tree in a park these days, maybe in some sort of make-shift homeless camp? Is that a pretty good guess?

Drool on bud, what's wrong with that? Thanks for the compliment. I didn't stay strong, spent all I was gonna, plus more than I was gonna. But the prices were so good compared to online. The selection was fabulous. Actually the boss doesn't mind knife show buys, it's the package in the mail every month. Or week. You know. The addictiin every day, not the knife heaven/vacation once a year. Hang on to your seat too, this ride is far from over. Thanks again.

..... Come on I-Man you are kill'en me!!! .... That GEC in Navy Blue bone is so beautiful... I am sitting here crying just looking at it.... Ohhh that is a good looking knife! I love the bone and the main blade profile!

Just getting time to look all these great pics. Looks like it was a great show and you guys all brought home some amazing stuff.

I-Man, you really hit the jackpot with some gorgeous Stags and those Bone & Wood GECs are awesome as well!

You're welcome anytime, glad people like to see them. Great show, people, times. I'm with you also, I have said for years I'm going to do the GEC Rendevous, Atlanta blade show and just never do. Would involve lots of flying. The OR show is a moderate drive. And I grew up 40 miles from Eugene where the show is. Big difference to me. But you will always be welcome and glad you did in the OKCA show. And its pretty. Green everywhere, lakes, rivers, mountains, forests, green valleys, coast not far away and beautiful sandy beaches. Lits to offer. Thanks for the feedback and mention.

Another I picked up at the show. I wasn't even looking for Case stuff, but this stag caught my eye. Steel liners and very well built. Excellent action and tight.

Question about the steel liners, are they rare? Don't recall seeing them on a Case. Was it made during war time?
That one has some great looking stag.

Don't know if steel liners are rare, I've seen them on 87s from the XX era like these, and the finishing is like those two. But I only own half a dozen from that era so I don' have a lot to compare it with. I am going to check all mine from the era and see how many are steel. You have me curious. Thanks for the notice.

Just checked, I have three with steel liners, three with brass. Here's the steel group: 47 Stockman, 87, and the 47PEN. All three pictured.
Have no idea if it was made during war time, how do you tell? Only know between '40-'64.

Ivoryman, I believe those liners are probably nickel silver, same metal as the bolsters. Notice the difference in the color compared to the springs which are most likely carbon steel. (I have a 1970 Case Trapper, stainless blades, that has a carbon spring and a stainless spring. Took me a while to even notice it.)
Reading in Knifeaholic's book, sometimes you'll noticed a comment mentioning the year that Case went from nickel silver to brass on different patterns.

The owner of the pyremite display wrote an article for the OKCA knewsletter about making a display. For this display he asked a woman, who was a non knife person, to take his pyremite knives and make a display. This was the result. The wheels spin and it makes quite an eyecatching display.
