Here’s an old match striker Ulster stockman that I got for $2 at a garage sale years ago. It had full blades, but no handle covers. I made some mesquite covers from some scrap from my Dad’s workshop and fitted them to the knife. Feeling pretty proud of the results, I showed Dad. He thought I was “gifting” him a knife. So, after complimenting my workmanship, he said, “Thanks!”, and slipped into his pocket. Somewhat sheepishly, I replied, You’re welcome, Dad!”
I wondered about the Ulster stockman “gift” for several years after Dad passed away. Then after Mom died, I found it in one of Dad’s storage bins in his old workshop, still in great shape! It remains one of my favor EDC knives and a good story to share with my kids about their “Papa”!

By 1994 Frank Buster "Cuz" had built over 300 different three blade "Stockman" knives with various handle materials, measuring 3-¾".
I have many Fight'n Rooster knives, mostly in the stockman pattern pictured below.
Most of my Roosters were obtained in the early 1980s through the early 1990s from "Clarence Risner" of Spring Valley, Ohio via land-line and when he attended the yearly So. Ca. Blade Shows.
The below stockman are also all celluloid. I have lost celluloid knives in the past due to outgassing, but they are not all time bombs. I have 100 year old plus celluloid handled knives that are fine. Just keep an eye on them and keep them clean and segregated. Collectors know when to take action. One should not be afraid to enjoy celluloid handled knives.

Back in 2020, this "stockman" pattern or style of pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it most definitely turned out to be a keeper. It did get added to my general, "foreign born", pocket knife accumulation and also got added to my EDC rotation. It is an Imperial, three blades, one tang stamp, 4" closed, two springs, "stockman" pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "Imperial (with crown) (over) IRELAND" The main blade has a SOFT half stop, a GOOD opening snap and a GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade has a SOFT half stop, a GOOD opening snap and a GOOD closing snap. The third blade also has a SOFT half stop, a GOOD opening snap and a GOOD closing snap. ALL three blades are EXTRA SHARP!! This pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. It did NOT require any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
