i need help determining the age/price of my antique case

i used your search engine to figure out the approx. year range of my knife and im wondering if it is right and what it may be worth

Hi Dragon01, Welcome to AAPK.

There are some members that may be able to assist you, but they will need to know what your knife is. If you can post some photos including a closeup of the tang stamp, it will make the job a lot more simple and accurate. It might take a while to get an answer, so please be patient.

thanks,maybe some one can point me in the right direction of who i should talk to about it...according to the stamp on the tang it was made between 1920 and 1940...the # on it is "9220" i believe. it is very old and still in pretty good shape...if anyone has any suggestions feel free to message me or post a reply and i will get back to you with some pics

I am a long ways from being an expert on Case knives but if I remember correctly, the knives from the Case Tested era (1920-1940) do not have pattern numbers on them.

Some Tested knives have pattern numbers, some dont. I dont have a book to look at but i think a 20 pattern is a peanut? And that 9 stands for imitation pearl or maybe cracked ice or onyx? But anyway it should be a two bladed knife thats 2 3/4 inches long closed. 9 stands for the handle material, 2 stands for the number of blades and 20 stands for the frame style, which is a peanut. 9220

Dragon 01, rig is right on the money; without a book. It could be either one of; the handle materials that he listed. According to Parker's traders guide Vol.8; it should have a long pull and flat blade. He gives a value of $700 for a mint knife.
