That is correct. That's why I say it is the victim of some previous work and it would be good to see an old Wilbert camper to see the correct orientation. The main blade collides with another blade. It is not correctly assembled.

I have been looking at all the pictures of old Wilberts I can find, and cannot find a Wilbert camper. However, I may be in error in assuming it is a camper. If you go back in this thread to page 2 there is a post from 6/22/17 where there is a catalog page that shows a 4 blade stock knife that has the same layout as my Wilbert. The nail nick on the master looks like it is to the pile side. And another knife was posted in this thread on page 3 on 11/25/19 where the picture shows a 4 blade stock knife with awl. Note how the nail nick is on the pile side. The broken off stump blade on mine is definitely not a can opener, but probably the sheepsfoot blade. I may be mistaken to say that mine has been apart and put back together wrong. Compare the two pics below to the mentioned examples back in this thread.

I agree, it looks original. Maybe a "lefty" made it. Still like it. I don't collect pretty knives, just honest ones. J.O'.

I know these shears aren't a knife, but they are stamped Wilbert Cutlery. I thought they might be of interest here in this thread. No idea who made them. They also do not appear to be in the best shape. But looks aren't everything. After a quick pass over a Tormek wheel, these bad boys cut smoothly across their entire edge, even silk and the finest of fabrics. I use shears everyday for fabric, card stock and paper. Old ones like this are my favorites. Of course, these guys and other fabric shears or scissors never get anywhere near card stock or paper.

I have Wilbert Jack and one blade has the curved stamp on one blade and the other blade has the straight stamp. Could it be possible to have two different stamps, particularly at a time when Wilbert was transitioning from one stamp to another?

Not unusual to have different stamps on secondary blades.
