Aquired 2 Camillus mysteries

I cannot match any photos yet with a model or timeframe for these 2 that I recently aquired. Any suggestions for locating relevant model info? Thanks.

The small trapper on the bottom is a model 29 as indicated on the pile side tang stamp and appeared in the 1992 catalog here http://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/C ... log-3s.pdf.

What does the pile side of the knife on top look like?

How long is the top knife when it's closed?

It's 3 7/8" closed length.

Believe that makes it a model # 67 . Both knives have the last stamp Camillus used until they closed in 2007 .

Yes, this knife is similar to the pattern #78/3, which was used to make the model #67 (and many many others), but I have never seen such a main blade with this pattern. In addition, the color and texture of the handle confuses me. These are similar to the knives that Camillus made for Remington in the early 90s, but they always had shields and angled bolsters.
As a result, I come to the conclusion that this is most likely a Frankenknife, possibly assembled at a factory in 2005-2006 from left over parts.

You could start a collection of them. I have a couple from that period and they are doozies. 72's with a Mish mash of blades.

I believe Vit is spot on with his assessment!
The Schrade "End-of-Days" knives are pretty well known and well documented. At that time many knives were assembled from parts that were not originally designed to go together. Some of them were pretty neat and there are people who collect those End of Days or Frankenknives. The same phenomenon happened at Camillus Cutlery.
There are many examples of Remington frames with Camillus blades with a Camillus stamp or etch on the tang. I have seen a number of Remington blades with the tang stamp ground off and the blade installed in a Camillus frame with no tang stamp.
