Post by raincrowe »

I would like to feature two small one-bladed knives/watch-fobs....ect

1) a three inch wrench shaped knife stamped on handle..The blade is stamped.... Voos made in the U.S.A.
Patented The Continental Fibre Co.
Vulcanized Fiber & Bakelight-Dilecto
Newark Delaware

2) a small approx. three inch knife blade unmarked the handle is stamped
Fred Medart MFG.Co
Both items seems to be older...By looking online I did find some but not very much information
I would like to know more about these knives if anyone has any information I would appreciate it... ::tu::

I have one(unmarked) like the 1st advertising the Marietta Torpedo Co. Torpedoes in this case were containers filled with nitroglycerine & dropped down into well shafts to put out oil well fires.
The other one is new to me.

EDIT: the torpedo's original use was to create oil wells. It was much later that it was found to be useful in extinguishing well fires.

It's good to see another knife...Both knives are marked (Patented)...Does that mean only the Voos knife Co. could make that pattern?
Thanks for showing the knife!!
