Unique folding Scissors/knife marked Patent

I have a small two & half inches closed scissors/knife combination marked Patent no other marking that I can
The knife looks to be old and seems to has ivory handles with a fingernail file and another blade
I would like to find more information who made the knife, the patent date..ect
Any information would be greatly appreciated..

Handle material could be "French Ivory", or celluloid?

The knife handle looks to be ivory and it has the age but can't really say....
Any idea who would have made the knife or what country it's from?

I've seen the discoloration of the one side on ivory before. Try a hot pin or needle near the broken edges. A camphor odor will be celluloid
Many nations have "patent" in their language. Hard to say just where it's from. Italy? France? Spain?

I have seen and indeed, own a similar item.

I bought it to lay on the antique dresser in our guest bedroom.

It, too, is simply marked PATENT in a parallelogram.

It has unbroken pearl handles and does not contain any folding knife blades, it is just a pair of spring-loaded folding scissors in a Balisong type configuration.

Pretty sure others here own similar items.

Very Nice item....I'm glad you could show the scissors because it has the same Balisong type configuration as the one I have.. I don't have the spring
in mine but it does cut paper good either it was older than the spring loaded one or the spring is missing but I don't see a place for the spring!!

The spring is internal, if you remove the screw holding the two halves together you will see it. It appears to be there from what I can see but it probably snapped inside.

I found three unique scissors two are unmarked... the one with the ebony handle...is marked ( Pat.May 22 1900) crest is marked Sterling
I'm not sure what it was designed for any ideas welcome!!

The spring is internal, if you remove the screw holding the two halves together you will see it. It appears to be there from what I can see but it probably snapped inside.

I have one similar to that but without the word patent. Do you think it’s from the same maker? I’m also trying to get information on this.
