Bulldog knives?

Has Bulldog quit making knives in Germany all the new stuff I have seen is made in the US by Queen I believe?

Looking at their website, I think it was necessary for them to outsorce to Queen and GEC to generate sales. Looks like they have quite a few knives dating back to 2005 for sale on their website. Bulldog knives are made by Friedrich Olbertz in Solingen, Germany - same factory that makes Fightin' Rooster. After looking at the online catalog, I'm left with the opinion that Bulldog has some old stock on hand.

Though I see some German made Bulldogs advertised as 1095, in Germany 1095 is CK101. 1095 is short for SAE 1095 - the American strip steel equivilant of CK101. Here is a couple links to some steel charts.

I don't know if I'm 100% right on this but it seems that they just needed to add something new to their inventory. I think it was a good idea.

At the Parker show I asked Buzz "Parker" and he said they hadn't ordered anything from Germany for awhile but still had the option. Kind of leaves it wide open.

Bulldog knives are one of the more confusing companies to me. I have quite a few and the whole "proto" thing I feel might have been over used just a bit. It almost seems that the newer ones are all protos ??

Does Parker own this company? I think I know the ansewer to this one. can't seem to find the thread where we discussed it.

Back when Jim Parker was alive Bulldog was owned by Billie Parker, Jim's wife. After Jim Parker passed away "Buzz", Jim's son, has been running the company along with a guy named Ed Henley. I am not sure who exactly has ownership. I agree with you on the prototype deal. It has been way overdone in my opinion.
The 1st generation knives that were produced when Charley Dorton owned the company starting in 1978 and ending in 1987 were by far the best quality in my opinion although there were some good quality knives produced in later generations. Great stag on the 1st generation knives also, not nearly as good later.
