Old Timer 61OT date

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

The closest I can date that with any sort of certainty is 1983 or before. In 1984 Schrade celebrated its 80th anniversary. From the Flyers that they published, that are archived on Collectors of Schrade R Us website, it appears they change their logo to the blacksmith with his up-raised hammer over an anvil.
Prior to that they used the logo that you have on your box, I would call it the sign board logo.
I have not studied this exhaustively so I would not say that I'm 100% on it, but it will give you a ballpark time frame. That's as good as I can do on a quick search. Hope it helps.

I have one very similar to yours which I have dated 1980. After purchasing
a knife I do extensive research and try to get an estimate on year
of production. I catalog my knives. It's a OCD thing. :D

Wow. That knife is about 44 years old!
