I'm posting a few photos of my Grandpa's knife that I am guessing was purchased between 1900 and 1920 (He was born in 1892). My Dad, who is now 93, says it was his edc. There are no visible markings at all on the blade. I have looked high and low and cannot find out anything about this knife. Any ideas out there?

then is the knife in question a “Legs Dagger”?

I’d love to see the Google searches being attempted to find this knife (lol)

Looks like the knife was possibly made from what was originally a cork screw?
This is from Don Bull's "Pocket Guide to Corkscrews" page 163. Printed in 1999.
How big is the knife in the closed position?

It looks as if you nailed it. If you search Google for lady leg corkscrew many images, come up. This one has the maker on it.

Gentlemen,

First let me thank you for taking the time to provide the fantastic information that you've passed along. 'Smella, the knife in the closed position is 2-5/8th so it is not the mini leg version. The Don Bull's information seems to have sprung the lock. So interesting that most of these Lady Legs are corkscrews. That leads me to the information provided by Bob which yielded the manufacturer; Graef & Schmidt Germany.

Spider in Web Trademark: Trademark of a Spider in a Web circa 1891 that I believe I can make out on the knife under ultraviolet light.

I was looking through books trying to find some more info on this subject and found what I think maybe the original lady leg knife, I'll post it for what it's worth. Note it is anatomically correct.
