Russell Green River and Home Cutlery

I was nosing through bunch of stuff on my workbench, sorting out the knives I am never going to work on, as well as the knives that are beyond repair. I found a couple that I had not looked at much, because they are pretty far gone. However, I am keeping them, just because they are pretty historic (I think). First is a Russell Green River Works jack knife, which had corroded a fair amount. The secondary is broken, but it's the one that still has any kind of tang stamp left. The main blade is not ground too far down, but has had corrosion polished off to the point that the nail nick is useless.

The second I had never heard of--come to find out that Home Cutlery Co. was Holley and Merwin, and the knife was made between 1850-1854. The knife has obviously been well used and loved, and is no longer a user, but I doubt I will find another Home Cutlery any time soon...

Brent that Home knife is a very historic piece, it's actually the precursor to Holley Mfg Co, VERY cool!!
