F Newton made in Sheffield - Any ideas

Hi guys,

Would anyone have any idea what this is please? Its marked "F Newton" who I think sold knives from catalogues? I would guess its from around c1900?

Its not in the best of shape and has had a scale repaired at some point.

The blade deploys with a "lever" underneath it which then hooks into the blade to secure it....never seen that before! Then it has an unusual combination of tools.

Any help or advice is much appreciated

Are all the blades marked with the same stamp? Can't really tell from the pic.

I don't have anything helpful to add, I'd just like to say I think it's great, even in it's present condition!

There was a Francis Newton in Sheffield.

Francis Newton & Sons Sheffield, Trademarks: "Premier"," Swan","Try", "Just Judico" (from J & R Dodge 1884.) Sold to G. Butler, c.1920's. (Ref: Levine's Guide p.60). Looks like just a general gentleman's multi blade, corkscrew, button hook, screwdriver tip, etc. Not sure about the two-pronged pick. Looks kinda like a golf divot tool or a cigar stub holder ???, or the tiny hook ??. Beautiful stag on one side. Nice old relic. J.O'.

What's a Gentleman's Knife?... is that like an early multi-tool?
