Ulster 10th mountain knife or FSSF

I need help verifying if this is a real WW2 10th mountain knife. I have a gentleman that is offering me this for a very reasonable price. My problem is that I have never seen one that was configured like this. The bail, tang stamp and lack of punch has me confused. Any & all help appreciated.

Knife is right. Only the first model had the phillips screwdriver on the bail and it had a sheepsfoot blade. Looks like the awl blade is broken, so pay accordingly.

I agree with Gene (as always). Nothing wrong with that knife except the broken punch. Technically, the first model had a doubled up center liner and the Phillips head was attached to the end of the doubled center liners. Apparently it was a prototype and never went into production. There are pictures of it on page 106 of Michael Silvery's book.

Any idea on why the thin bail? I thought they all had the flat ball. Thanks for the help

Bail could have been replaced, and after the war Ulster dropped the US marked bail for the type on your knife and sold them as common utility knives.

In fact I have one that is etched Abercrombie and Fitch.

Oops, sorry, my stupid. I didn't notice that knife in the first pictures does not have not the 10th Mountain Division "U.S." stamped flat bail. This one is an example of the non-stamped, round bail, civilian version that was produced after the war. My apologies.
